『Another One Bites the Dust』（アナザー・ワン・バイツ・ザ・ダスト) は、イギリスのロック・バンド、クイーン（Queen）が1980年に発表した楽曲。

邦題は『地獄へ道づれ』。シングル売上は200万枚を超え、クイーンにおける最大のヒット曲となった。

「bite the dust（バイト・ザ・ダスト）」とは、文字通りに訳せば「砂埃をかむ」といった意味になるが、英語の慣用句・イディオムとしては、「敗北する、命を落とす」などの意味合いで用いられる。

イメージとしては、戦いに敗れて意識を失ったり命を落として、土がむき出しの地面に顔面から倒れてうつぶせの状態で、顔面が地面について砂が口に入った状況を想像すると意味が分かりやすいかもしれない。

元々は旧約聖書に現れるフレーズで、「lick the dust（リック・ザ・ダスト／砂埃をなめる）」が変化したスラングのようだ（詳細は後述する）。

ちなみに、荒木飛呂彦の漫画作品「ジョジョの奇妙な冒険」では、第4部に登場する吉良吉影（きら よしかげ）のスタンド「キラー・クイーン」が持つ能力の一つに「バイツァ・ダスト」があるが、これは『Another One Bites the Dust』が名前の元ネタになっている。

スタンド名「キラー・クイーン」自体も、クイーンのヒット曲『Killer Queen（キラー・クイーン）』が元ネタ。

旧約聖書と「bite the dust」

「bite the dust」の元になったと考えられる「lick the dust」という表現が登場するのは、旧約聖書『詩篇（詩編）』第72篇第9節。

ウィキペディアより、旧約聖書『詩篇』第72篇第9節の英語版と口語訳を次のとおり引用する。

They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; And his enemies shall lick the dust.

彼のあだは彼の前にかがみ、彼の敵はちりをなめるように。

ここでは、ソロモン王による古代イスラエル（イスラエル王国）統治について記されている。

「lick the dust」（リック・ザ・ダスト／砂埃をなめる）の意味についても、戦いに敗れて地面に倒れ、顔面が地面についた状態で砂埃(すなぼこり)や塵(ちり)が口に入るような状況が想像できる。

この表現が後にアメリカでスラング「bite the dust（バイト・ザ・ダスト）」となったと考えられる。
