懐かしき（やさしき）愛の歌
人生の闇が影を落としても 愛はまた優しき歌を見出すだろう
まったりとした夜の雰囲気漂う名曲『懐かしき（やさしき）愛の歌(Love's Old Sweet Song)』は 、19世紀に活躍したアイルランドの詩人・作家ジェームズ・モロイが1894年に発表した彼の代表作（作詞はG. Clifton Bingham）。
モロイは、聖エドマンド大学（St Edmund's College）とダブリンのカトリック大学を卒業。26歳に弁護士資格を得た後、主にコンサートホール向けにオペラを作曲する音楽家として活動した。
彼の作品はすぐに好評を博し、「The Old Cottage Clock」、「 Bantry Bay」、「The Kerry Dance」などの作品を次々と発表していった。
